Hold On is a two player game that simulates how uncomfortable it could be holding your own partner’s hand in public, something most people do not have to face if in a hetero-relationship. Some of the crowd walking by will turn red, indicating that they are judging you and making some remark at you, causing your “Comfort Meter” to plunge. Others will turn green, in support of you holding your partner’s hand in public, causing your “Comfort Meter” to rise. You and the other player work together to figure out what’s important to the both of you: your personal comfort or a universal gesture of love.
This game was made in the 2013 QUILTBAG Game Jam.
